Process Group recently announced the launch of its new premium TUNGSTONE ® range of materials from which their Desander & Deoiler Hydrocyclones are now manufactured. The TUNGSTONE ® range encompasses erosion-resistant materials designed to give exceptionally long life in the harsh erosive environments where the many of Process Group’s Hydrocyclones are installed.

The premium materials covered under the TUNGSTONE ® range include Tungsten Carbide (in a nickel matrix), and Silicon Carbide (Nitride Bonded & Reaction Bonded).

Kevin O’Brien, Process Group’s Hydrocyclone Product Manager said “we have selected these new materials from which to manufacture our Hydrocyclones, as we want to offer the best materials with the most suitable properties for these tough applications where erosion is a constant threat. I have seen many cases where abrasive solids have rapidly eroded traditional materials, including Stellite ® and Alumina Ceramic.  Consequently, Process Group decided to select materials that provide exceptional wear resistance, and are also not too brittle, which is a problem with many ceramic compounds.”

“We have invested a lot of time and energy over the years to understand which materials offer the best advantages for these applications and we have learned that there is no single material that suits all cases or Hydrocyclone types. Consequently, we have selected a range of materials to cover the diverse requirements of the various types and uses of Hydrocyclones. We can also provide the TUNGSTONE ® material options across our common Hydrocyclone models, which allows us to supply replacement parts for many existing Hydrocyclones where erosion is an issue.”

This allows Process Group to offer a choice of materials to allow Clients to select the material option that best suits their process needs and budget.

Process Group manufactures replacement Spare Parts for its own range of CYCLONIXX ® Deoiler & Desander Hydrocyclones, plus a wide range of common Hydrocyclones manufactured by others.
